A few updates about Math and Science:
Science: The students will no longer be allowed to use their science textbooks on science quizzes and tests. They will, however, for a short time be allowed to use their notes. On that note…I have been transitioning them to start taking their own notes and not rely solely on me to tell them what is important. This will continue throughout the year. I do tell them what I would have in my notes and show them where I got the information from.
Math: The students will no longer be taking math tests "paper/pencil." The Math portion of FCAT for 5th grades is given on the computer only. So, to be sure the students are prepared, we will be giving our chapter tests on the computer as well. Of course, they are allowed scratch paper! They just won't have a copy of the test in front of them.

The Honor Roll Assembly is tomorrow at 2:00! Invitations went home Friday.
Our 2nd annual Book Swap will be held on Friday! Your child may bring a book from home they'd like to swap for a new/used one.
